Taylor Swift Might Be Dating Formula 1 Star Fernando Alonso

In what might be the unlikeliest pairing of 2023 so far, Taylor Swift is reportedly dating Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso.

The 41-year-old two-time world champion and the 33-year-old singer have reportedly been “seeing each other for a week now,” according to news outlets.
 

Rumors

• The news was reported by the anonymous celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi which says that it is “nothing serious” because the pair are both recently single. Swift recently split up with her boyfriend-of-six-years Joe Alwyn.

 

• There is no hard evidence of their relationship and fans have speculated how the couple could have even met to begin with.

 

• However, on April 24, Alonso posted a TikTok video entitled “Race week era” showing him listening to Swift’s song Karma.

Who is Fernando Alonso?

• Alonso, the oldest driver on the Formula 1 grid, is enjoying a renaissance with his new team Aston Martin and currently lies third in the drivers’ standings after a strong start to the season.

 

• He split up with television presenter girlfriend Andrea Schlage at the beginning of April posting a heartfelt message on Instagram announcing the news.

 

Why it matters: Single Taylor is back!

• Even if the rumors are unsubstantiated, Alonso is the first celebrity Swift has been linked with since her break-up with Alwyn.

 

• During her relationship with Alwyn, Swift was notoriously private. But since their split, Swift has made several public appearances, and even resurrected her famous girl squad. This weekend, she was photographed by paparazzi hanging out in New York City with Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, and the band Haim.

• Motorsport fans were stunned by the dating rumor and the unexpected convergence of F1 and Swift fan culture.
