  • Cayman Mail Road reported that Gigi Hadid and her friend Leah Nicole McCarthy were charged with possession of marijuana on July 10 after the drug was found in her luggage while being processed by customs officers at the Owen Roberts International Airport.

  • Gigi reportedly traveled with her friend in a private jet to the Cayman Islands. Officials discovered the drug and a few other items commonly associated with cannabis consumption in her luggage. This led to the suspicion that Gigi and Leah were possibly importing cannabis to another country, eventually leading to their arrest.

  • Gigi and Leah were booked into the Prisoner Detention Center but were later released on bail.

  • According to Cayman Mail Road, Gigi and Leah appeared in Summary Court on July 12 and were both charged. They pleaded guilty and were each fined $1,000.00, and no conviction was recorded.
