‘Where has Scar Girl’s Scar Gone?’
- In January, TikTok’s Annie Bonelli (@wtmab), commonly known as “Scar Girl,” attracted international attention after she was accused of faking her scar.
- TikTok users accused Annie of lying about her scar and drawing it on her face to gain online fame — claimed that Annie’s scar had changed size, color, and location on her cheek. Videos showed how Annie’s scar had changed from being pink, faint, and small to dark, thick, and long over two years.
- Annie denied that her scar was fake claiming that she actually has two scars, which is why previous videos show her with a lighter, shorter scar. She also says she received a chemical burn on top of her original scar, causing it to darken.
- While some TikTok users remained skeptical about the authenticity of Annie’s scar, the media frenzy around “Scar Girl” died down in the ensuing months.
- Now, TikTok users are claiming that Annie does not have the same scar anymore — after the mark allegedly appeared
to be barely visible in her most recent videos. - According to viewers, Annie’s scar has allegedly not been seen since the TikTok video that she uploaded on September 28. In the clips before that, Annie’s scar still appeared to be brown and dark.

to be barely visible in her most recent videos. - According to viewers, Annie’s scar has not been seen since the TikTok video that she uploaded on September 28. In some of the clip, Annie’s scar is no longer brown and dark and is instead very faint and small again.
- “The scar is gone!” a fan remarked. Other viewers asked “Where’s the scar gone?” and “Wait, where’s the scar?”
- Some fans were thrilled for Annie and believed that her scar was finally healing. A TikTok user exclaimed: “Yay! Look it’s healing and those treatments are healing.” “The scar finally faded away,” another viewer writes.
- Earlier this year, Annie told NBC News that she had started seeing a dermatologist in August 2022. She said her doctor was putting her on a new treatment to fade the scar. Annie reportedly declined to share records of dermatology appointments with NBC News.
- However other social media users pointed out that Annie may simply be hiding her scar with make-up now: “Y’all it’s covered with concealer!” In the past, Annie has commented that she puts concealer on her scar sometimes.
